Season 17 Episode 1 of Grey's Anatomy Review
The First Episode Back in 2020 is going to be a hard and tough time for writers to come up with storylines that set in during a Pandemic and also continue the previous seasons of the storyline and a stuck a balance between the two, and so Greys Anatomy sets out to what it does best, and turn it into an emotional roller coaster, As the show has become bleak and sad throughout this episode, and using Richard as a vehicle of the story to cover what has happened in the season before. The episode has moments of which that our beloved characters are dealing with the new changes and covid - 19 pandemic and we can tell the relationship
Summary of Episode 1 of Grey's Anatomy From IMDB
In the midst of the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Grey Sloan Memorial and its surgeons' lives have been turned upside down. The season 17 premiere picks up one month into the pandemic, and it's all-hands-on-deck as Meredith, Bailey and the rest of the Grey Sloan doctors find themselves on the frontlines of a new era. Meanwhile, an unintentionally started fire has first responders from Station 19 bringing patients into the hospital for treatment. (IMDB, 2020)
From the summary above, I like to dive into further the relationships that been tackled or had a focus point in episode 1, so let's dive into the messy side of the relationship development on the show.
Teddy and Owen

After Season 16 finale we these two are going through a major problem in their relationship, as teddy has been known to cheat with partners that are not herself relationship, and so we get to see how teddy reacts to the news of her mistake and how it is going to affect the same time.
2. Meredith and Andrew

This couple or relationship I can not stand as I believe that these two are nothing more than friends with benefits with the perks of working at the same time. But I am interested them taken more of approach a mentor relationship
3. Maggie and Her New Partner

This relationship is going to be interesting to see how the writers will develop a connection long distance from each other. Because at the moment Maggie needs a break from the dating world.
4. Nico and Levi

During season 16 we got to see a relationship between these two and also a break up so I am wondering what the development is going to be between these two in the future
5. Jackson and Vic

This relationship is done between the these Two as we get to see how Jackson is waiting for someone to take the next step while Vic is hanging out in the hookup zone. But things can change over a course of a season.
6. Ben and Bailey

During Season 16 these two have been through a number of significant changes in the sense when comes the miscarriage and the ever-changing dynamics between the two and their family members, I hope in this season we get to see how this relationship will evolve to something else
7. Jackson and Jo

I believe that this relationship should not exist beyond the state of a friend, As I believe that Jackson and jo are in a bad place as they have left relationships that are toxic and bad to due to various reasons but I can see the reasons behind the motivation of the relationship but no, as I said new relationships with people outside the hospital.
Best Moments of the Episode
1.Closure of some of the storylines that happen in the previous season with the human trafficking story and the development of the individual characters of the season 16,
2.The use of the flashbacks and flashforwards to develop what has happened in the episode and also the grey’s anatomy world and how they have included the COVID - 19 panamdic or other major current world events
3.All the actors and crew members did a fantastic job with the topics of the episode
4.The use of Richard as a tool move and tell stories of a previous seasons
Emotional Moments
1.When the Decula’s interventions are developed
2.The Toll that it taking on the health care workers at grey’s anatomy
Not So Great Moments of Episode
1.The messy situation between Jo, Jackson and Vic and how they are not so great with one and another.
2.The moments of when some of the staff broke protocol
Grey’s Anatomy Episode 2 Season 17
This episode is working together with the previous episode to bring reason to the storyline and also give the context that is needed to see where some of the other characters that are not mentioned in the first half of the season 17 Premiere
The episode’s plot storyline for the second half of the season
Bailey finds herself in the middle of an argument with patients' families as they await news about their children who were injured in a fire. Winston surprises Maggie, and Amelia and Link try to have some fun as new parents. Teddy learns her colleagues know more than she may like about her relationship woes with Owen, and Richard and Koracick go at it.
In this episode from what is shown we get to see how the relationships are developed in the season 17 episode 2 from the previous season with the use of flashbacks and flashforwards, let's jump into how that the development came about
1.Amelia and Link

a)This episode was full of the content of one of the most healthy relationships on the show the moment, as the previous episode we had very hard topics such as covid 19 and the changes that the grey’s world has to go through so with the arguing about the name of their child and them both forgetting link’s birthday, I believe that writers put them in there to get the episode to a sense of relief and a bit of humour for the audience, In this season I want to see more of these two, but a Link centred episode
2.Richarad and Catherine

a)This episode we get to see some development in both of this relationship as well reconnections to some degree, As Last season, these two, went through a major rough patch and they are too stubborn to reconnect with one and other, So I believe this latest development, we are going to see major changes in their relationship going forward
3.Meredith and Hayes

a)This relationship is going to become of a bit of a focal point of the season 17, as they are going to become more of like a friendship, at this stage of the season 17, I don’t believe that they are going to be romantic yet, we just have seen how Meredith recovers from been struck down by COVID - 19 also believe that Hayes is going to become the new Alex in a sense.
This episode, also looked into the relationships that were brought up in the previous episodes, and sort of gave more a context to the situation of the story overall, I hope to see more development in these relationships in over the coming season, as we get to see how the COVID - 19 pandemic will change the world of relationships in Grey’s anatomy universe. But I want to get into my favourite moments and the not so great moments of episode 2 of season 17 of grey’s anatomy are the below
Best Moments of the Episode
1.Lights moments of emotional levity with Amelia and Link
2.Again the actors and productions crew did a massive effort to create great content by an awesome job with the job in hand
3.The yelling scene between Katherine and Maggie
4.Katrherine dealing with The Tom and Teddy Situation
5.The appearance of one man that everyone has been waiting for to return for a couple of episodes
Emotional Moments of the episode
1.The Dad’s hugging after the traumatic death one of the boys
2.Teddy’s finding out that she screwed up with her relationship with Owen
3.The cliffhanger of the end of the episode
Not so great moments of the episode
1.The development of Maggie and Winston and how that relationship is developing
2.Teddy running after Owen in the parking lot
Overall Thoughts and Opinions on episodes 1 & 2
Grey’s Antomot is one of the shows that have the ability to tackle the current world problems that are happening in the world as it is a medical show and with the untold episodes from the previous season, the writers had a tough challenge of combing the two together and I believe that they pull it off in a Grey fashion, in the two episodes that were on the air, we got to see how the show is going to tackle the current topics and the storyline of the previous season and how the show is going to be moving forward for the current season of the show, we got to see how the relationships are been developed since we last saw the characters on the show. In episode 1 of the show, we got to how they deal with current topics and the storyline from station 19 and episode 2 we get to see how the show’s relationships and what the writers are going to develop storylines for the coming season, the standout moments of the show first two episodes are
1.Ending scene of the second hour of the show
2.The emotional moments throughout the show
3.How the writers dealt with the show’s lost storylines of the show’s previous season
P.s. My reaction to the ending scene is the following
Overall the first two episodes are going to be filed with the content that we need for the show come back I hope to see more of the development in the individual characters and the relationships that are currently ongoing at the moment and I look forward on how they are going to develop the storyline with Derek and I also believe that Meredith is going to be struck down with COVID- 19, as a way to help show that even our medical fictional doctors can get sick with this virus. Overall good start to the season 17
